Dr. Tolkan and Gypsy are retiring!
After 39 remarkable years of caring for children and families, Dr. Tolkan will be retiring from Roswell Pediatrics at the end of December.
Throughout her career, she has provided exceptional pediatric care to multiple generations, earning the admiration and gratitude of patients, families, and colleagues alike.
Dr. Tolkan’s dedication, warmth, and compassion have left a lasting impact on all who have had the privilege of working with her or being under her care.
After 7 wonderful years of love, comfort, and tail wags, Gyspy will also be retiring from RPC. Gypsy has been a calming, joyful presence in our office, helping countless children feel safe and supported during their visits. With her gentle demeanor and intuitive heart, she brought smiles, reduced fears, and made every day just a little bit brighter for patients, families and staff alike. As she steps into her golden years, Gypsy will enjoy more time relaxing at home, going on leisurely walks, and soaking up belly rubs - without having to clock in for duty.
While we will miss Dr. Tolkan and Gypsy deeply, we are excited for them as they begin this next chapter. Please join us in celebrating their incredible career and in wishing them a joyful, restful, and well-earned retirement.
Below is a personal letter from Dr. Tolkan to her patients and families.
______________
Dear Patients and Families,
After much reflection and with a full heart, I want to share that I will be retiring from Roswell Pediatrics. Since joining this practice in 1989, it has been one of the greatest privileges of my life to care for your children and watch so many of your families grow—some now bringing in a second generation of little ones.
Over these past decades, I’ve had the joy of not only practicing medicine, but building lifelong connections with so many of you. I’ve celebrated milestones, offered comfort through challenges, and shared in countless giggles, stories, and hugs. And, of course, my beloved therapy dog Gypsy has been right by my side, spreading love and calm to nervous little hearts (and sometimes their parents, too!).
I will deeply miss the daily moments—the drawings, the curious questions, the brave checkups, and the privilege of watching your children grow into remarkable young people. Being part of your family’s journey has truly been an honor.
Thank you for trusting me with your children’s care. Your kindness, support, and love over the years have meant more to me than words can fully express.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Dr. Tolkan
